RANGE, BATTERY AND CHARGING.
European model shown. Model shown may include optional equipment. U.S. specifications may vary.
- A high-voltage battery with 112.2 kWh of usable energy, built from new cylindrical cells in a cell-to-pack design.
- Estimated range of 384–428 miles, based on preliminary testing using EPA procedures.
- DC charging at up to 400 kW on an 800-volt charger: BMW says ten minutes adds 163–184 miles of range.
- A 10–80% charge takes about 21 minutes at that type of station.
- Battery preparation warms or cools the battery on the way to a DC charger, so charging starts at a higher rate.
- A NACS charge port and Plug & Charge, which lets compatible stations start a session and handle payment when you plug in.
- AC charging at up to 15.4 kW at home, for example with the BMW Wallbox Plus.
BMW Maps plans charging stops for you when a destination is beyond your current range. It factors in your preferred charging providers, your desired arrival charge level and, with the help of AI, the realistic charging power and reliability of each station.
Range and charging figures are preliminary BMW estimates based on testing using EPA procedures. Actual results vary with configuration, temperature, driving conditions, charger capability and charging habits.
PERFORMANCE AND THE HEART OF JOY.
BMW iX4 50 xDrive uses two electric motors: an electrically excited synchronous motor at the rear with 322 hp and an asynchronous motor at the front with 165 hp. Together they deliver 463 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, with xDrive all-wheel drive standard and 0–60 mph in 4.7 seconds. BMW says this pairing cuts energy losses by 40% and drive-system weight by 10% compared with the previous generation.
The Heart of Joy is one of four central computers in the BMW iX4. It controls the drive system, braking, recuperation and steering, and BMW says it acts ten times more quickly than previous systems for more consistent, precise handling. In everyday driving, the BMW iX4 slows almost entirely through recuperation, and Soft Stop brings it to a halt without jerking or brake noise.
Adaptive M Suspension with variable sport steering is available, and you can tune the ride from comfortable to very sporty through My Modes. A low, flat battery gives the BMW iX4 a low center of gravity and near-perfect weight distribution, according to BMW.
BMW PANORAMIC iDRIVE AND THE INTERIOR.

- BMW Panoramic Vision shows driving information across the full width of the lower windshield, and it stays visible with polarized sunglasses.
- A 17.9-inch Central Display with a free-cut design and matrix backlight technology. You can drag up to six widgets into BMW Panoramic Vision.
- An available BMW 3D Head-Up Display projects navigation and driver-assistance information into your line of sight.
- BMW Operating System X, based on the Android Open Source Project, can gain new functions through Software Updates.
- BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, enhanced by Amazon Alexa+, understands natural speech and can answer general questions.
- Standard electrically adjustable seats with memory, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats and a seven-speaker, 205-watt sound system. A 13-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos is available.

BMW iX4 pairs a large trunk with extra storage under the hood, which BMW says fits the charging cable or the BMW Multifunction Charger. A roof box and trailer tow hitch are available, and the BMW iX4 can tow up to 4,400 lbs when properly equipped.
DRIVER ASSISTANCE.
Driving Assistant Plus and BMW Maps with driver assistance are standard. Driving Assistant Plus bundles Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go, Speed Limit Assistant, Lane Keep Assistant and Steering Assistant. BMW Symbiotic Drive lets you accelerate, steer or brake while assistance is active without switching it off.
The available Highway & Commuting Assistant allows attentive hands-free driving at up to 85 mph on approved highways, and you can confirm a suggested lane change with a glance at the exterior mirror. The available Parking Assistant Professional can park the BMW iX4 remotely from up to 20 feet away using the My BMW App.
Driver assistance features are not a substitute for the driver's responsibility to operate the vehicle. Always pay attention to traffic, surroundings and road conditions. Performance may be affected by weather, traffic, road conditions, cellular service and map data.

OWNING AN ELECTRIC BMW IN CONNECTICUT.
- Home charging. Most owners charge overnight on a Level 2 charger. Your actual charging rate depends on your charger and your home's electrical service. Check with Eversource or United Illuminating for any current home-charging programs and eligibility rules. Our BMW EV charging page covers the basics.
- Road trips. From Darien, BMW Maps plans DC charging stops along I-95 and beyond, and battery preparation helps each stop start at a higher charging rate.
- Winter driving. Expect less range on cold days, as with any electric vehicle. xDrive all-wheel drive is standard.
- Power outages. With the available adapters, BMW says the BMW iX4 can supply backup power at home. Ask our team what home equipment you need.
- Rebates and tax credits. Connecticut's CHEAPR rebate requires a base MSRP under $50,000, so the BMW iX4 doesn't qualify. According to the IRS, the federal new clean vehicle credit isn't available for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. Talk with a tax professional about your situation.
