2022 BMW 5 Series Review
Which Is Your Variant?
The 5 Series is a unique vehicle that can suit a unique driver. Since it’s available with four different powertrains, you can customize your 5 Series model to match your every need. Whether you’re looking for something efficient, something powerful, or a little bit of both, one of these motors will have what you want:
- 2.0-liter 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo engine
- 3.0-liter 6-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo engine
- 4.4-liter V8 BMW M TwinPower Turbo engine
- 2.0 liter 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine & electric motor
When properly equipped, the 2022 5 Series can crank out a maximum 627 horsepower, but even the smaller engines offer considerable strength. For instance, the standard powertrain of the 5 Series—the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder model—can achieve 248 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque.
The base model of the 5 Series can even accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in under six seconds. And the available M5 trim can kick that up a few notches to accelerate in just 3.2 seconds.
Convenience, Infotainment, Safety, and More
The technology of the 5 Series covers all your bases and then some. Features like the rain-sensing windshield wipers and engine Start/Stop button will add some much-desired convenience to your day-to-day drives.
However, it’s the massive display screen that will really capture your attention. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster of the Live Cockpit Professional and the 12.3-inch central information display make it easy for you to view, access, and control various features in your vehicle.
The iDrive 7.0 system handles the infotainment and can be controlled by voice and the iDrive Controller.
A standard Rear-view Camera will make parking easy, as will the front and rear Park Distance Control feature. Additionally, the Active Driving Assistant includes a few essential driving features, such as Frontal Collision Warning and Active Blind Spot Detection.
